More Pictures of the Weekend!

On Saturday we got a lot of snow. It was pretty and I'm glad its just happening right before we leave. I think I would get tired of it if I had to deal with it for more than a week. If you notice how I am bundled up in a down coat and fleece lined mittens while Taylor is not even wearing a jacket. Yep, we couldn't be more opposite when it comes to temperature. Anyway, here are some more pictures!

Adventures we sometimes wish didn't happen to us

Friday evening came and I bought tickets to see The Day the Earth Stood Still at the IMAX theater about 40 minutes away. The ticket time was for 10:30 pm so we had pretty much the entire evening to do other stuff. We went to a Chinese buffet that was actually the best we've had since we've been here. Too bad we discovered it a little too late. After the buffet we realized we had about two and a half hours to burn. We decided to head across the highway to see the lights at Thanksgiving Point. After trying to figure out how to enter the place in the first place we found the entry point. Unfortunately, for one car it was $7.00! Uh...I am not paying $7.00 to see lights. They didn't even look incredibly spectacular. That is almost the price of a movie ticket. That is about 6 movie tickets at the dollar theater. So, we decided against it. At this time we thought we would have enough time to go to Temple Square and see the lights. It was incredibly crowded! A Mormon Tabernacle Performance had just ended. We were still able to see all the beautiful lights. We took some pictures, but they came out kind of blurry. Anyway, we left in a hurry so we wouldn't be late and arrived at the theater barely in time. BUT! It was the wrong one! Anyway, we decided to see it the next day. Anyway, here are some pictures!

Taylor is 23!

Happy Birthday to Taylor!! He still had to go to work, but in the evening we went to Chili's. I told the waitress it was his birthday and he got a free dessert in a shot glass. They didn't sing to him and I think he was really glad they didn't. I went shopping with my friend Allyson for Taylor earlier in the afternoon. And I bought him a really nice, soft sweater and a nice t-shirt. Taylor says I'm trying to change him, but I say I'm just trying to improve him. haha just kidding. Anyway, here are a few pictures from our evening. Sorry if you don't like kissy photos, but I thought Taylor's face was really cute. Also, I couldn't get Taylor to stand up for a photo of him in his new clothes. He only let me take one of him laying down, but I hope you get the picture. :)

Where'd we go?

Okay, so Taylor and I didn't go to San Diego. But we did end up going to Montana. Taylor was invited by one of his old mission buddies to go hunting. I didn't really want to stay by myself so I went too. I just kind of hung out in the hotel room. Taylor, unfortunately, didn't get anything. But it was still neat to travel through Idaho and Montana. It was both of our first times up there. We have a few pictures, but they're mostly on the road home. It really wasn't too cold. But we had fun.

What has happened and what is going to happen

I guess I just feel like I can't post with out pictures. Maybe I just think its not as fun. The weather has turned colder now that Fall has officially arrived and Taylor and I are getting used to it. Or maybe I should say I am getting used to it. Taylor is perfectly fine in cold weather. We haven't been able to go on any adventures on the weekends because I have been working the past two Saturdays and I will be working the next two Saturdays. The most exciting place we've really been to is Cabella's. I don't know if that even really counts as exciting, but Taylor enjoys going there. I think it is his replacement for Academy while we're here. They don't have Academy here in Utah. We've looked at everything from guns, bows, hats, and gloves. I thought I would be bored going, but it actually is a lot of fun to go and look at all the wild animals that have been stuffed and the huge aquarium. Anyway, these are some of our cell phone shots.

Also, Taylor and I discussed going home for Thanksgiving, but it just doesn't seem like its in our budget to spend around $600.00 for two days. I'm sure the airlines are making a killing. We're just too poor right now to do it. BUT! We have decided to go to....

SAN DIEGO!!!
We're planning on stopping at Disney Land (even though that is not in San Diego), the San Diego Zoo, and probably visit some of Taylor's old mission people. Actually, that's the main point of the trip. So, we'll probably be in his mission most of the time. He really wants to go to this Chinese buffet that he was in love with on his mission. Apparently, nothing can compare to it. So, I'm definitely excited for that! Well, for now that is all the news that I have to report.

We're still waiting to hear from the schools we've applied to. We're extremely anxious because we want to start planning. Well, I hope everyone takes care! Bye!

The Cave and more Slideshow!!!!

The Trail to the Cave of Wonders...

Mom and dad are visiting us this weekend! It has been so nice to have them here and show them around. Today we went to church in the morning and then went on a short hike to a cave Taylor and I wanted to explore. We saw the cave on our way back down from Squaw Peak. The hike wasn't too long and it wasn't too steep. Dad and mom really enjoyed the Autumn colors and scenery. We took a ton of pictures. Here are some of our adventures.

Squaw Peak!

So, this weekend has been beautiful. The weather is in the 70s and it was the perfect time to go hike Squaw Peak. Squaw Peak is a 8 mile hike round trip. Taylor and I did it in about 3 and a half hours. It got really, extremely steep. We were dirty and tired by the time we were done, but we were filled with a great sense of accomplishment. Here are some of our pictures. The leaves were not AS brilliant as a few weeks before, but it was still beautiful. We also made friends with this guy and his rhodesian ridgeback dog. I couldn't believe the dog made it up there. Taylor and I were impressed with the dog. His stature was intimidating, but he was just one of the friendliest dogs we've met. I think we'd be interested in a dog like that. I would definitely feel safe at home with that kind of dog.

Our destination from the view at the parking lot.

It's been awhile...

So, we mostly haven't blogged because nothing interesting has really happened. However, let me just update you on a couple of things. Last week Taylor and I went to Salt Lake City to the Hogle Zoo. It wasn't very impressive. It actually just made you feel bad for the animals. So, we didn't take any pictures there, but we stopped at Heritage Park. Heritage Park is where the "This is the Place" monument is at. So, we stopped there and took some pictures. It was actually snowing earlier, but at the moment we were taking pictures it wasn't. After wards, we hung out with Allyson and her boyfriend Drew in Salt Lake. We saw an interesting park that had Joseph Smith's face on the Sphinx. It was all gospel based, but completely strange. We don't have any pictures of the park unfortunately.

First try! We thought the picture didn't take!

We got it right the second time!
